Early Friday morning, a driver's SUV crashed into a tree off Perth Road and caught fire, and a Good Samaritan pulled him from the burning vehicle—Troutman Fire & Rescue later extinguished the flames as Iredell County EMS transported him to the hospital.
After the candidate filing period ended Friday, Iredell County released a complete slate of candidates for November 4 elections, including municipal races in Davidson, Mooresville, Statesville and Troutman along with two Mooresville Graded School Board seats. Some races were unopposed and several incumbents in Statesville did not file for re-election — voters will soon have new leadership choices.
