I'm back at The New State Cinema in Newton, NC, on Saturday, November 21st, with another double feature! This time, we're celebrating Thanksgiving with two cult horror movies that take the holiday in a very different direction.

First up is Blood Freak (1972), the bizarre cult classic about a biker who smokes marijuana, eats experimental turkey meat, and turns into a bloodthirsty monster with a giant turkey head.

Then we're watching Home Sweet Home (1981), an '80s Thanksgiving slasher about a killer high on PCP who crashes a family's holiday gathering, oh and there's a mime.

I'll introduce each movie with a brief synopsis and a little trivia before we roll, and in between the features, I'll be showing a selection of cool vintage Thanksgiving-themed cult movie trailers.

Both movies, one big screen, and FREE GIVEAWAYS!

Tickets are free or donation-only. You can pay $0 or contribute whatever you'd like. Every dollar goes toward keeping these monthly cult double features going, and every bit of support is appreciated.

You do need to reserve your ticket online ahead of time. There won't be tickets available at the door, so make sure you grab yours before the show.

Also, this month, consider bringing non-perishable food items instead of a monetary donation! I'll collect everything and donate it to a local food bank for the upcoming holidays. Any contribution is appreciated, and you're welcome to bring food donations whether you've already donated or not.
