- ➤ The Statesville Kiwanis Club recently donated $20,000 to help Iredell County 4-H and Cooperative Extension purchase a 15-passenger van that will improve transportation for youth events across the county. Iredell Free News
- ➤ Piedmont Animal Rescue will host the Rescue Bowl on Saturday, Feb. 7 at Chickadee Hill Farms (181 E. Monbo Road) from 4-8 p.m., where locals can enjoy adoptable pets, games, food, drinks and raffles to support rescue animals. Mooresville Citizen

- ➤ Members of Pine Lake Prep's Speech and Debate Team earned Silver Awards at the Cavalier Invitational at Durham Academy. Junior Krish Korrapati placed second in Congressional Debate among 115 competitors, while freshman Riya Korrapati finished second in Dramatic Interpretation, earning a bid to the Tournament of Champions.
