- ➤ Troutman Elementary School third-grader Ella, age 9, was diagnosed with a brain tumor on January 1 and has had surgery that left her with weakness in her left side. Her school and community raised $8,500 plus more than $1,800 from third-graders in a fundraiser that included a fun pieing event to help support her treatment and her family. Iredell Free News
- ➤ Top of the Lake Rotary of Mooresville will hold its Annual Port-A-Pit Chicken Fundraiser on Thursday, April 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church on 575 Brawley School Road, where guests can buy a meal of half a Port-A-Pit smoked chicken, sides + a Moon Pie for $15 to support local philanthropic activities.
