- ➤ Mooresville is hosting the 2025 N.C. Main Street Conference with 800 participants arriving Tuesday and Gov. Josh Stein joining the speakers list—events include sessions, tours and free time downtown. The three-day conference is expected to add about $1 million to the local economy. Mooresville Citizen
- ➤ Iredell County Animal Services was recognized by PetSmart Charities as a Bronze Medal Status Adoption Partner after over 500 pets were adopted in 2024 at its center on 214 Turnersburg Highway—most of the adoptions were cats—and its volunteer team led by Nicole Heckemeyer provides daily care to keep the center active. - ➤ At Community School of Davidson on March 7, more than 300 educators gathered for the 13th Fresh Take Conference to discuss AI in education, teaching practices and creative strategies—rotating through seven workshops and engaging in student panel sessions. The event featured a keynote from professor John Almarode and set the stage for next year's conference on March 20—registration details will be available soon. Mooresville Citizen
- ➤ Administrators in Iredell-Statesville Schools say the board is not working well with superintendent Jeff James—after a survey showed over 66 percent of nearly 90 leaders disagree with the board’s teamwork. Some comments said meetings were chaotic and embarrassing—actions they believe hurt support for all students. Iredell Free News
- ➤ Iredell-Statesville Schools is hosting a free career fair on March 19th at the Statesville Civic Center — roughly 500 graduating seniors and members of the public will meet over 76 local employers to discuss job opportunities. Students will attend from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and the public from 12 to 2 p.m. — attendees must dress professionally, bring resumes, and can use bus transportation provided. Iredell Free News
