Good morning, Mooresville.

After 30 years of service including 14 as chief, Mooresville Fire-Rescue's Curt Deaton will retire on March 27 (his leadership led to an ISO Class 1 rating and expansion of fire stations), marking a milestone for the department.

The N.C. Department of Health & Human Services has updated its statewide mental health bed registry to provide hourly automated updates that improve care coordination.

The BH SCAN system is now linked to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline to quickly direct people in crisis to available beds.
