- ➤ Local seniors at the South Iredell Senior Center take part in free exercise, hobby, and information sessions provided by the Iredell Council on Aging. The center is in downtown, making it easy for residents to walk to coffee, lunch, or nearby shops + parks. Mooresville Citizen
- ➤ Mooresville High School teacher Tim Smith and others started an annual fundraiser that now supports three educators facing serious health challenges, including teacher Kristin DaSilva battling Stage 3 breast cancer, teacher JaKeiah McLean undergoing treatment for Stage 2 breast cancer, and retired teacher DeVore Holman coping with Stage 4 kidney disease. The first tournament was held Saturday during Shamrocks & Shenanigans Festival and the next event will take place Thursday, May 8 at Coach Joe Popp Stadium with a local business partner. - ➤ About 500 high school seniors attended the I-SS Career Fair at the Statesville Civic Center on Wednesday and met with nearly 80 local employers from fields such as healthcare, manufacturing, landscaping, and construction. Organizers from the I-SS Career Technical Education Department and Iredell Ready said the event gave students a chance to learn about job and apprenticeship opportunities—helping them build professional connections for their future.
