  • Stony Point Volunteer Fire Department will host a drive-thru BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, April 12 at Station 1 (501 Ruritan Road) beginning at 1 p.m. Plate price is $10 and the meal will include chicken, baked beans, slaw, a roll and dessert, with proceeds supporting future department projects.  Iredell Free News

  • Iredell County firefighters rescued 3 dogs from a burning house in Mooresville when they rushed to the scene—no injuries were reported.  Mooresville Tribune

CRIME NEWS

  • 65-year-old Lynn Eugene Warren from Millersville Road in Taylorsville was arrested on March 14 by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers and faces charges for felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and probation violation with a bond set at $25,000—he is scheduled to appear in Taylorsville court on April 1.  WHKY
  • Iredell County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered multiple firearms at the home of convicted felon Anthony Leroy Wellman (58) on March 17 when he reported a break-in, and he was arrested and charged with possessing a firearm as a convicted felon and felony possession of a weapon of mass destruction before being released on a $50,000 bond.  Iredell Free News

  • Last Thursday, Troutman Town Council listened to department heads present fiscal achievements, revenue forecasts, and project plans in preparation for next month’s budget discussions. Updates from finance, planning, parks, and public works showed improved tax revenue and proposals for new development (including restructuring in finance and updated infrastructure plans).  Iredell Free News
  • On April 8, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., the District Bar will meet in the Superior Court courtroom at Iredell County Courthouse to elect nominees for the vacant District Court judge seat. Members may submit their names in writing (including a resume and brief statement of qualifications) five days before the meeting or nominate candidates from the floor.  Iredell Free News

  • Iredell Memorial Hospital’s main laboratory earned accreditation from the College of American Pathologists today after CAP inspectors reviewed its records, staff qualifications and safety procedures—hospital director Asha C.
