- ➤ Mooresville Service Unit 136 held its second annual Rope Runner Derby on March 28 at Fuzion Teen Center where Scouts from Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes raced handcrafted wooden figures and earned medals for top speeds and unique designs — the event celebrated STEM learning and creative teamwork. - ➤ Officials in Iredell County broke ground Friday on the future Weathers Creek High School at 246 Overcash Road in Troutman—this new school will ease overcrowding at Lake Norman High and South Iredell High Schools and is planned to serve 1,600 students. WHKY
- ➤ Iredell-Statesville Schools held a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday—marking the start of construction for Weathers Creek High School on 114 acres off Overcash Road in Troutman. The school will open in 27 months for the 2027-2028 school year as a $130 million contract was awarded to Monteith Construction to build the facility and begin grading for athletic areas.
