Good morning, Mooresville.
Nearly 100 people attended a candlelight vigil at Liberty Park on Saturday to honor 32 children in North Carolina who died from abuse.

Today the Iredell County Board of Commissioners approved a $235,468 incentive for Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing at Statesville Regional Airport.
The company plans to buy new equipment with a $23 million investment for work in military, aerospace and energy sectors — a move that may add up to 20 jobs — if it meets tax refund requirements over five years.
Iredell officials broke ground on a $130 million Troutman high school today and plan to finish it in three years—Knight said the project will give the community a school to be proud of.

General Assembly during the week of March 24, assisting senators and staff with tasks and observing floor sessions—gaining firsthand insight into state government. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity provided by Senator Vickie Sawyer to learn about the legislative process.
Rep. Todd Carver attended a forum on March 28 hosted by Mitchell Community College, Iredell Ready, and myFutureNC to update locals on North Carolina’s progress toward having 2 million skilled workers by 2030.
The forum showed skilled workers rose from 1.45 million in 2019 to 1.66 million in 2023—while Iredell County is on track, 43% of residents ages 25 to 44 still lack credentials—so more effort is needed to boost the labor force.
On July 16, 2024, Iredell County passed a resolution to form an America 250 Committee to plan local events for the nation’s 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026.
The committee, which includes 29 members led by Public Library director Juli Moore, is updating the county’s Heritage book series (backed by a $10,000 grant) with new and revised family histories.
Patients beginning therapy at Iredell Psychiatry will have a session that covers personal history, mental health goals, and a clear discussion about the treatment plan.
