HEALTH NEWS

  • Today, NCDHHS launched the Fight the Bite campaign as part of Tick and Mosquito Awareness Month to guide Mooresville residents on using EPA-approved repellents, checking for ticks after outdoor activities, and reducing mosquito breeding by emptying standing water. K-12 students were invited to enter a poster contest and winners will be announced at the end of April+ over 900 cases of tick- and mosquito-borne illnesses were reported statewide last year.  WHKY
  • Iredell Health System hired Andrew R. Ross as director of education—he has over 24 years of work in emergency services and nearly 20 years of teaching experience. Ross said he is excited to help train staff to improve patient care.  Iredell Free News

  • Tickets remain available for the Iredell County Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday, May 19 at the Statesville Civic Center. Advance tickets cost $50 + door tickets cost $60 and the Class of 2025 inductees include J.B.
