- ➤ A Connecticut man, 35-year-old Leronte Raynard Myers, was arrested on a felony drug charge after an Iredell County sheriff’s deputy stopped his vehicle for a traffic violation on Interstate 77 near Tomlin Mill Road on April 16 when a canine detected narcotics—25 grams of psilocybin mushrooms—in his car, and he now faces charges for felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia with bond set at $20,000. - ➤ Construction will begin soon on a new $2 million visitor center at Fort Dobbs historic site—this will be the first purpose-built facility for visitors.
