- ➤ The Christian Mission is preparing to open its new 27,000-square-foot Betty and Randy Marion Center on May 1 at 919 N. Main St. to offer classrooms, a computer lab and community room for job training and career counseling—efforts that help local families break the cycle of poverty. Mooresville Citizen
- ➤ Lake Norman will host several spring events as the region plans for sports and cultural activities— the ISSA Eastern Spring Nationals play will be held at Bradford Park from April 30—May 4 in Huntersville, a youth volleyball tournament is scheduled on the first weekend in May at the Huntersville Rec Center, and the Charlotte Asian Festival and Dragon Boat Race will take place at Ramsey Creek Park on May 17. - ➤ Mooresville will launch the Rock the Park Summer Concert Series at Liberty Park on May 2—each evening concert begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature acts including The Tams, Crucial Fiya, The Chain with Dani Kerr, a special concert on August 2, and Buffett & Beyond for a season of outdoor music and community gathering.
