  • On April 21, a deputy stopped a vehicle on I-77 near mile marker 61 after a traffic violation, which led to a search that found 460.51 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and resulted in the arrests of Francisco Javier Velazquez and Holly Marie O’Dowd, who each face multiple felony and misdemeanor drug charges.  Iredell Free News
  • Iredell County deputies charged three people after a vehicle search found 1 pound of marijuana—one woman was arrested on outstanding warrants while two face trafficking charges.  Statesville Record & Landmark
  • A Mooresville man was charged with trafficking cocaine & marijuana following a traffic stop, according to police reports.  Mooresville Tribune
  • Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers arrested 28-year-old Francisco Javier Velazquez of Bethel Church Road and 26-year-old Holly Marie O’Dowd of Juniper Lane on felony charges for possession with intent to sell marijuana plus misdemeanor charges for paraphernalia after stopping their vehicle for a moving violation on Interstate 77 near mile marker 61 on April 21 and setting $25,000 secured bonds with court appearances scheduled for May 12.  WHKY

  • Troutman Town Manager Ron Wyatt told council that rapid residential growth is outpacing wastewater capacity, so the town will draft a moratorium on new homes.
