The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office reported felony arrests between April 16 and 25 — charging 13 suspects with offenses including possession of stolen goods, controlled substances and weapons — in areas such as Mooresville, Olin and Statesville with investigations ongoing.

Recovery efforts continue at Wilson Creek today as the North Carolina Department of Transportation repairs Brown Mountain Beach Road and delays are expected.

The US Forest Service closed the Wilson Creek Day Use Area and Harper Creek Falls until September 1 (or until deemed safe) to protect public safety during recovery work.

Today Governor Josh Stein extended the State of Emergency for wildfires affecting 34 counties, giving emergency teams 30 days to safeguard communities as dry conditions persist.
