- ➤ Mooresville announced the return of the Rock the Park Summer Concert Series at Liberty Park. The free series will run weekly on Fridays from May 1 to Sept. 4 and feature tribute bands, regional acts, and food vendors. Mooresville Citizen
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mooresville Arts awarded its inaugural senior scholarship to Kaitlyn Kittle from Charlotte, who will receive $5,000 to help with tuition as she attends Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) this fall. Four local high school seniors applied after submitting self-portraits, with her piece winning the committee’s vote. Iredell Free News
- ➤ Lincoln Charter School’s beekeeping course, taught by nurse Sara McCarter and master beekeeper Madison Bridges, recently certified 23 students through hands-on hive inspections in bee suits. The program began four years ago and uses funds from honey sales to support class supplies. Mooresville Citizen
- ➤ Cub Scout Pack #173 held its Cub Scout Olympics at Fair View United Methodist Church where gold medal winners advanced to the Gemstone District event (Iredell County) at West Iredell High School. Statesville Record & Landmark
- ➤ Iredell County Partnership for Young Children holds its fourth annual Take A Chance for Children raffle to support early literacy. Tickets can be bought online + at the Statesville office, and a winner will be drawn on June 3 to help reopen enrollment. Iredell Free News
