- ➤ Rescue Ranch held its inaugural Bunnies and Brunch on Saturday for more than 220 visitors, with families enjoying rabbit petting, crafts, and a birthday celebration for 80-year-old Marie Pyka. - ➤ A Statesville man, 25-year-old Seth Allen Paynter, was fatally injured early Sunday morning when his 2019 Polaris RZR lost control and overturned on Saw Mills Road near Union Grove Road in northern Iredell County (alcohol reportedly contributed) as he was not wearing a seatbelt. - ➤ The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office reported felony arrests from May 2 to May 9 that included charges ranging from drug offenses to assault and identity theft in Statesville, Mooresville + other nearby areas, with several individuals such as Mooresville’s Stacey Gitania McKinney and Robert Logan Sloop among those arrested. - ➤ After Abby Trent resigned from the Iredell-Statesville Schools Board over family safety concerns following harassment and stalking, board members are meeting today at 6 p.m. at Career Academy and Technical School in Troutman to fill her District 3 seat.
