EDUCATION NEWS

  • Mitchell Community College honored 101 HSE graduates on Thursday at its Statesville Campus Circle. College president Tim Brewer announced that each graduate will receive a sponsorship for one in-state course — a step toward their continued education.  Iredell Free News
  • Iredell-Statesville Schools have acquired 16 new AED devices (donated by the Iredell Health Foundation), replacing units that had been in service since 1992. The move meets current safety standards for students and staff.  Mooresville Tribune
  • Iredell-Statesville Schools purchased 16 new AEDs this week using a gift from Iredell Health Foundation & retired older units that had been in use since 1992 and surpassed their 10-year lifespan.  Statesville Record & Landmark
  • The Iredell Crosby Scholars Senior Celebration recorded record attendance as it served over 1,900 Iredell County students * offering career exploration, test prep, resume building, and college tours. HEALTH NEWS

  • Iredell County hospice has raised over $3 million so far and now aims to secure an extra $2 million for a new grief center — the final phase of its campaign.  Statesville Record & Landmark
  • Mooresville is partnering with Cone Health to open its new Employee Care Center at 435 E. Statesville Avenue starting May 18. The center will offer primary, acute, occupational health, lab, and pharmacy services for town employees, retirees, and dependents on the medical plan.  Iredell Free News
  • Iredell County hospice is in the final phase of its fundraising campaign after raising over $3 million and now seeks $2 million to build a new grief center & support local healing. Community members are encouraged to help complete the project soon.  Mooresville Tribune
