- ➤ On Monday, Mooresville Mayor Chris Carney and the Town Board honored Team Penske at the Charles Mack Citizen Center by recognizing drivers Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, and other team members for their three consecutive NASCAR Cup Series championships. The ceremony highlighted Team Penske's deep roots—since 1991—and its ongoing role in the town as fans can visit the Race Shop Fan Walk on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Iredell Free News

- ➤ On May 16, Mooresville Police investigated a shootout near Lookout Point Place when a Dodge Charger exchanged gunfire with individuals on foot (no injuries were reported), and three male occupants were arrested after officers recovered two firearms while continuing to search for others involved. - ➤ 23-year-old Jerome Victor Delact of Brockton was arrested May 15 by Iredell County Sheriff's Officers after a traffic stop on Interstate 77 North—where deputies and a canine unit found over two pounds of marijuana and four firearms—one reported stolen from Greer. WHKY
