  • Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers arrested 24-year-old Cameron Max Burleyson from Cumberland Road in Statesville on May 25 after a search of his home uncovered over 15 pounds of marijuana, 1,281 THC cartridges, various edibles, 50 dosage units of Adderall, and $2,500 in cash—he now faces multiple felony counts for drug trafficking.  WHKY
  • Mooresville resident Steven Andiloro, 53, was sentenced to 45 months in federal prison—followed by three years of supervised release—for a $6.1 million fraud scheme that defrauded investors and stole millions in COVID relief funds.  Mooresville Tribune

  • Mooresville High School held its 2025 graduation on Saturday as graduates threw their blue caps into the air — a moment that marked the end of their ceremony with celebration.  Mooresville Tribune

  • Forty-six high school juniors finished the eight-month Youth Leadership Iredell Program in April under the sponsorship of local companies including Bobcat, Denso, Jon C. Packman General Dentistry and Legacy Oral and Facial Surgery—Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce and Iredell Statesville Schools said the program built leadership and community skills, with preparations for the next school year set to begin in early July.  Iredell Free News

  • Gov. Josh Stein appointed Statesville attorney Jessie Conley to fill the vacant District Court seat in Iredell and Alexander counties — the seat became open after Judge Bryan Corbett resigned on March 7. Conley, who served as a judge in Judicial District 22 — she was one of five nominees selected by the District 32 Bar Association — brings more than four decades of legal experience to the bench.  Iredell Free News

  • Randi Raynor from Iredell Health System said that talking with your pharmacist about all your medications can lower the risk of bad drug reactions, as the CDC estimates over 1.5 million emergency visits each year. She added that new software helps screen for dangerous drug interactions — guiding safe prescription use — and urged patients to read labels and report any side effects.  Iredell Free News
