Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 30th of May.
Good morning, Mooresville.
🏘️ Community
High school volunteer Tyler (who organized front office tasks and fire drills for 20 years) is named honorary fire marshal today as he celebrates his birthday.
Local school officials praised his long-term service to the community.
Local faith communities and civic partners in Iredell County met a $10,000 matching challenge to raise $20,000 for food banks in Mooresville (and Statesville) to help families while school is out for summer.
The ongoing effort ensures that fresh produce, protein, and shelf-stable goods reach pantries facing high demand.
💼 Business
Mooresville will soon welcome a popular hot chicken restaurant as part of an expansion into the Charlotte area — including our town.
The restaurant is expected to bring its signature spicy menu to locals, with more details to follow.
