  • FOODiversity, a Mooresville nonprofit, received a $1,500 grant from the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund to support its Food Delivery Program, which enrolled three Charlotte Metro households for three to six months. The program helps families with food allergies, celiac disease or food intolerances access allergen-friendly and gluten-free foods and cut extra shopping time + boost their health.  Iredell Free News
  • On Saturday, Richard’s Coffee Shop in Downtown Mooresville hosted a breakfast for veterans — co-sponsored by Mooresville Masonic Lodge #496, Campbell Masonic Lodge #374, Lake Norman Shrine Club and Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 38-year-old Statesville man named Elmer Adalberto Romero Giron died in a crash on Friday at about 7:50 p.m. on I-77 South near mile marker 64 in Harmony when a back right tire blew on his 1999 Ford Ranger, causing it to lose control, overturn, and go down an embankment + an adult and two juvenile passengers were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.  WHKY

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Attorney General Jeff Jackson warned North Carolina residents that scammers are sending texts claiming to be from the DMV to demand payment for fake tickets — these texts falsely warn of license suspension or prosecution. He advised people to ignore the messages, forward them to 7726, and report them to the proper authorities — a caution to prevent further fraud.  Iredell Free News
