  • The Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce held ribbon-cutting ceremonies—welcoming new ventures including Dilling Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical, EZ Cube Moving & Portable Storage, Bace Barbershop, St. Paul Church at the Lake, and Spire Motorsports—to introduce fresh services to our community.  Mooresville Citizen
  • FeedNC will launch its Summer Hunger Food Drive on June 16 to help children at risk of hunger by aiming to collect 15,000 pounds of food and $15,000 during a campaign that runs until June 21. The food drive begins with a Summer Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.—local businesses, churches, and volunteers are invited to join the effort.  Iredell Free News
  • Troutman Garden Club held its 75th anniversary luncheon Wednesday afternoon at Lake Norman State Park Community Building — about 50 members and guests attended while club leaders spoke and toured exhibits of local projects and historical memorabilia. The club, which meets monthly to share gardening ideas and support local charities, celebrated a milestone in its long history.  Iredell Free News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A home on Buffalo Shoals Road was heavily damaged by an early morning blaze at 5:08 a.m. that injured one person—Troutman Fire and Rescue with crews from Monticello, West Iredell and Catawba controlled the fire in about 30 minutes while Iredell County EMS treated burns and the Red Cross assisted a displaced occupant—and the road was closed for several hours.  Iredell Free News

CRIME NEWS

  • On June 6, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a Fairdale Road home after receiving drug activity complaints—narcotics investigators arrested James William Smith, 48, and Kira Holly James, 43, seizing crystal methamphetamine, clonazepam, and subutex as they face multiple felony drug charges.  Iredell Free News
  • On June 5, deputies responded to a break-in in eastern Iredell County after a security system alerted an out-of-town homeowner; 18-year-old Brandon Samir Adams and 25-year-old Daylan Grant Hallman from Statesville were arrested (Adams received a $75,000 secured bond and Hallman was held without bail) while police continue to search for 23-year-old Fred Cox IV.  WHKY
  • Constance Marie Mercado, 32, Shawn Burton Ramsey, 31, and Scott Eric Monk, 35, were arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers after a traffic stop on Island Ford Road last Saturday, June 7—officers found cocaine, alprazolam, and drug paraphernalia and discovered outstanding Catawba County warrants for Mercado and Ramsey—and all face multiple drug charges with court appearances on June 30.  WHKY
