Good morning, Mooresville.

The Mooresville-Lake Norman Rotary Club held its annual retreat on June 14 at the home of its outgoing president to plan service projects for 2025-2026 using only a renewed focus on local outreach.

Club members set clear goals to boost volunteer work and improve community involvement.

Iredell County Sheriff’s Office identified Charles William Crowe Jr. — 63 — as the Sherrills Ford man who drowned in Lake Norman Saturday after he experienced health issues while boating near Main Channel marker 20, and his body was recovered Sunday after rescue efforts resumed amid inclement weather.

Mooresville-based MSI Defense Solutions was awarded the 2025 James S.

Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award — a rare honor granted to only a few cleared facilities nationwide for their strong security programs; the award was presented at the NCMS Annual Training Seminar on June 11. This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to protecting sensitive national security information.
