Good morning, Mooresville.

The Rotary Club of Statesville Endowment gave $25,500 to 16 local nonprofits for its spring grant period — over $77,000 in requests led to more than $540,000 in community projects.

A reception will be held at Randy Marion Lincoln on June 23 — local Rotarians will honor the nonprofit winners.

Iredell County’s board approved a $344 million budget and said taxes will not rise for a couple years—Commissioner Scottie Brown said the move is aimed at long-term tax stability.

Dr. Harlan Hicks of Iredell Internal Medicine said high blood pressure often goes unnoticed—its slow damage to arteries from aging, lifestyle, and genetics can harm vital organs.

He urged patients to start with a short daily walk and keep regular checkups to manage their blood pressure.
