- ➤ The Rotary Club of Statesville/Fourth Creek donated $25,000 to open a Family Resource Center at The Birth Place in Iredell Memorial Hospital on June 6— the new space offers child-friendly seating, many charging outlets, a TV, a coffee and snack bar, and a baby changing room. Iredell Health Foundation said the center gives families comfort and help during important moments. Iredell Free News
- ➤ At the June meeting, Pam Navey of the Iredell Homeless Collaborative explained that the group and its local partners will host summer events for the homeless and those in transitional situations, including feeding programs for children, youth camps, and community fun days. Local agencies are also gearing up to manage shelter transitions and address challenges from heavy rains and the closure of Brookwood Inn — efforts that aim to support families as they move to stable housing.
