  • Mooresville nonprofit FOODiversity will share how its Food Delivery Program, Early Introduction Parent Program and disaster relief efforts improve access to safe, allergen-friendly foods at a national Food Allergy Summit in Chicago this weekend — staff members will present research posters developed with food allergy groups. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A home was damaged in a fire on June 26 on Weston Road when Trinity Fire Department responded at about 1:43 p.m. + firefighters from Monticello, Central and Stony Point with Iredell County EMS and Rescue Squad contained heavy flames from an attached garage and a burning vehicle; no injuries were reported as the Fire Marshal's Office investigates the cause.  WHKY
  • Troutman Fire & Rescue, police officers, and Iredell County EMS rescued a motorist trapped in an overturned vehicle on Perry Road at 10:55 a.m. Thursday—responders treated her and transported her to a local hospital while Perry Road remained closed until the wreck was removed.  Iredell Free News
  • Troutman Fire & Rescue, Troutman Police Department & Iredell County EMS responded to an overturned vehicle with entrapment on Perry Road at about 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, extricated the driver, provided medical care, and transported her to a local hospital while closing the road until the wreck was removed.  WHKY

  • The State Board of Elections appointed four members to the Iredell County Board of Elections during a Tuesday meeting and named Jason Abernethy as chair by State Auditor Dave Boliek. Their two-year terms began Wednesday and will end on July 19, 2027.  Iredell Free News

SPORTS NEWS

  • From June 12th to 15th, the Lake Norman region hosted the USTA North Carolina 18 and Over Tennis State Championships for the 12th straight year with 92 teams and 1,022 players at 14 venues—an event organized by the Lake Norman Tennis Association and over 100 dedicated volunteers. The tournament will return next mid-June with new lighted courts at the Bailey Road Park Court Complex in Cornelius—funded by a $100,000 donation and $511,000 in grant money.  Mooresville Citizen
