- ➤ The USDA announced new federal income guidelines for the 2025—2026 school year that set limits for free and reduced-price meals for children in North Carolina schools. Households earning at or below the specified levels, receiving SNAP or CA benefits, or caring for foster children qualify, and families must submit a signed application to their school for verification.
