Good morning, Mooresville.

Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell announced that 19 people were arrested on felony drug charges in an ICSO undercover operation that caught repeat drug sellers, including two in Mooresville + the arrests aim to break up criminal networks linked to other crimes.

The Iredell County Public Library was awarded a $15,525 grant from the State Library to purchase a Charlie Cart (a mobile kitchen for cooking classes) at the Statesville branch.

The new cart will be used to offer cooking and nutrition programs for residents of all ages.

Iredell Statesville Schools students attended Camp Med at Iredell Memorial Hospital starting June 26, where 16 selected teens toured departments such as Endoscopy and Radiology to learn about healthcare careers.

They also traveled to Winston-Salem for a tour of Wake Forest School of Medicine—sponsored by Northwest AHEC and Wake Forest School of Medicine—to gain hands-on insight into their future in healthcare.

Iredell County is accepting applications for numerous county jobs in parks and recreation, emergency services, transit, social services, and more — some roles offer a $2,500 new hire bonus and require pre-employment screenings.

Many applications remain open until filled while specific listings close on July 7, July 9, or July 15.
