ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 11:51 a.m. Saturday, Mooresville Fire-Rescue, Mount Mourne units and Iredell County EMS responded to a pickup truck that overturned in the retaining pond at Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital—firefighters used a Halligan tool to pry the door open and rescue a dog that appeared unharmed.  Iredell Free News

  • The Boys & Girls Club of the Piedmont will lease its facility to Success Institute Charter School for daytime classes starting with the 2025-2026 school year — a move that lets the club maintain its after-school and summer programs while providing the school a safe, well-equipped space.  Iredell Free News

  • With one week left until filing closes at 12 noon on July 18, several municipal races and the Mooresville Graded Schools District election show key contests with only one candidate. Filed candidates include Russell Knox Jr. for Davidson mayor and Chris Carney for Mooresville mayor—other races in Davidson, Statesville, Troutman, and on the school board have multiple filings.  Iredell Free News
  • Mooresville is working on a 5.5-mile NC 150 widening project to ease traffic and meet future demand— NCDOT Communications Officer Jen Goodwin said the work is scheduled to finish in 2030.  Mooresville Tribune
