- ➤ The Rotary Club of Top of the Lake-Mooresville named a new board of directors with Mindy Rice as president, succeeding outgoing President Kim Atwell. The board will work to grow membership and build local partnerships for service projects at home and abroad. Iredell Free News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The updated design for the new Parkertown Elementary School at 218 Parkertown Road was revealed at Monday night’s board meeting. The $52 million project will serve 720 students and begin construction in 2026—design work will finish by year-end—leading to a fall opening. Iredell Free News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Last week during the Troutman Town Council meeting, officials discussed a proposed wastewater treatment agreement with Statesville—where Statesville would treat up to 200,000 gallons per day for five years while Troutman must secure alternative sewer resources—and council member Nicholas Jaroszynski asked to pull the agreement from the consent agenda for further discussion. Troutman also has a separate contract with Mooresville to boost sewer capacity to 2 million gallons per day, but Mooresville will complete facility upgrades in one to two years. WHKY
