- ➤ Mooresville police arrested James Joel Letarte, 67, on multiple child sexual exploitation charges after investigators received a tip and found evidence on devices seized during a July 11 search warrant at his home & he was rearrested on Wednesday and is now held at Iredell County Jail without bond. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Iredell County Public Library now accepts vendor applications for Write Local: Iredell Author Fair, a literary event scheduled for September 27 from 1—4 p.m. at the Statesville library. Applications close on July 25 and accepted vendors will be notified by August 1. Iredell Free News

- ➤ At its July 7 meeting, Mooresville commissioners approved a memorandum with Lowe's Home Centers to secure property for a future Fire Station 7 on the town's southern side and set plans to pursue a $16 million limited obligation bond for park upgrades and library renovations. The board expects the bond to close by Aug. 28 — officials say the financing will not require a tax increase. Mooresville Citizen

- ➤ Frye Regional Medical Center welcomed 24 new graduate nurses at a signing day event today as they signed letters of intent+accepted their employment offers and began onboarding activities across several hospital departments. - ➤ Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital celebrated the grand re-opening of its Gift Shop with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by President and COO Kristie Barazsu—attended by hospital leadership and volunteers.
