- ➤ The Rotary Club of Top of the Lake-Mooresville dedicated two Peace Poles at Lowe’s YMCA and Liberty Park, installing one near the flags and a second by the playground and covered shelter. - ➤ County commissioners voted unanimously after a three-hour hearing on Tuesday evening to deny a rezoning request for 20—30 acres for a proposed solar farm along Wilkesboro Highway and Highway 115. Local residents raised concerns about potential environmental impacts such as risks to a nearby creek—officials noted that government subsidies formed a key part of the proposal. Iredell Free News
- ➤ NCDOT contract crews began work on the $249 million NC 150 widening project starting July 14 by closing right lanes on I-77 to build a new bridge at the interchange with NC 150. Drivers will face nightly lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. as traffic shifts to inside lanes — future phases will add eastbound and westbound lanes and start right-of-way acquisition in fall.
