Good morning, Mooresville.

Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on Monday revealed that the remains found behind a home on Newton Drive near Statesville last week belong to Kevin Scott Queen—50 years old—who lived at 2336 Newton Drive and died of natural causes, with detectives opening a death investigation on July 16 after a 911 call reported the discovery.

Gary West filed for re-election as at-large commissioner on the Mooresville Town Board of Commissioners, saying he will continue to support public safety and make local infrastructure improvements.

He plans to fight for smart growth and key projects including a new fire station and downtown upgrades — actions he believes will keep the community safe.
