  • The Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce held its Celebrate Business Luncheon & Annual Community Excellence Awards ceremony and honored local leaders for their contributions. The awards went to Robert Gates from Gates Construction Company—named Businessperson of the Year, Amy LaCount of Mooresville Christian Mission for the Sara Haire Tice Women in Leadership Award, Rescue Ranch for the Duke Energy Service Award, Robert Edmiston of Aisle Pawn Shop as Entrepreneurial Award winner, Dr. Tim Brewer as Citizen of the Year, and Ambassadors Stan Thompson and Bill Thunberg for their work on the Hydrail Initiative.  Mooresville Citizen
  • About 60 families residing at the Brookwood Inn have been told to vacate by October 30 as the property will be demolished for new development. Many residents face uncertain futures—some must choose between shelters or motels—while others work to secure stable housing.  Iredell Free News

  • Two men were arrested after Iredell County Sheriff’s Office detectives surveilled a motel in Statesville—John Anthony Mazzullo, with outstanding warrants, was taken into custody on Wednesday while Cody Shane Jett faced felony charges after a traffic stop uncovered methamphetamine.  Iredell Free News

  • Dr. Jeffrey Brink from Iredell Ear, Nose & Throat explained that sleep apnea is a disorder where breathing pauses during sleep, raising risks for heart disease, diabetes and other health issues. He said patients may discuss treatments such as CPAP machines, oral appliances and nerve stimulation with their doctor.  Iredell Free News

  • The Mooresville Spinners reclaimed the SCBL title after a one-year hiatus as they swept the Statesville Owls in a best-of-three championship series—winning Game 1 10 to 8 and Game 2 15 to 12. The win marks their fourth title in the last five summers.  Mooresville Citizen
  • The inaugural HarborHippos season ended with a 7-1 playoff win at Huntersville Athletic Park as the team, founded by Mike and Kris Viruso, brought together players and local host families to build strong community ties—local fans and Mooresville players contributed through service projects and active support during games.
