- ➤ Cyclists will ride in Downtown Mooresville on September 7 for the third annual Mooresville Fondo—offering scenic Gran Fondo-style routes of 75, 50 and 25 miles with start times at 7:30 a.m., 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. respectively. The event will raise funds for local suicide prevention and mental health initiatives, and participants can enjoy food, drinks and live music after crossing the finish line. Iredell Free News

- ➤ At the Iredell-Statesville Schools Board meeting on August 11, Mike Kubiniec said the board violated open meetings law by changing the posted meeting time from 6 p.m. to 4 p.m. without public notice while the board later said the change was minor and followed legal advice - it will allow public access by keeping the meeting room doors open and livestreaming the session. - ➤ The State Board of Elections is sending letters to North Carolina voters missing a driver's license number or the last four digits of their social security number—including about 550 in Iredell County. The letters instruct voters to update their records by mail, online, or in person, or they will need to cast a provisional ballot in future elections. Iredell Free News
