Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 7th of September.
Good morning, Mooresville.
🏘️ Community
Former Brookwood Inn residents have started settling into new homes after the motel closed on August 31; local nonprofits + community partners have helped with relocation, job training, and financial support.
Leaders say the housing crisis is not over and more assistance is needed to support these families as they adjust.
🏛️ Government
Mooresville resident Richard J.
Beck said NCDOT will close West Wilson Avenue on Monday, September 8 for six months for road work along with the NC 150 widening project—he claimed the move shows a lack of vision and will worsen traffic. He warned that cutting a main road in town will make driving more difficult for local commuters—sparking concerns about better planning.
