EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students, teachers and staff at Central Elementary School held a Patriot Day ceremony on Thursday to honor the heroes and victims of September 11 using a display that includes a Freedom Flag and a piece of North Tower steel—fourth-graders explained how the flag represents both rescue workers and those who lost their lives. The school, a long-standing community hub with generations of students, remains the only one in North Carolina partnered with the Freedom Flag Foundation. Iredell Free News
