- ➤ The Iredell-Statesville Schools Board met Monday night and discussed a new policy that will require cellphones to be turned off during instructional time—students may bring them only if needed for health or a personalized plan. - ➤ Statesville City Council unanimously approved a rezoning for Compass Datacenters to build a 1.34 million square foot data center on a 350-acre site near exit 146 along Interstate 40; the project will consist of five buildings and is likely to face scrutiny over traffic and environmental impact (including concerns from nearby Mooresville residents).
