Eastwood Homes held a charity event at Peyton Creek where residents raced on over-sized tricycles—eating BBQ and joining a raffle for autographed NFL memorabilia—to support The HEARTest Yard, a program that has raised over $8 million for pediatric heart care.

On Saturday morning, emergency responders and rookie paramedics trained at North Iredell Middle School during a mass casualty drill that simulated a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 77 — the exercise was led by the North Iredell Rescue Squad with several other agencies participating to improve emergency readiness. Officials said they plan to make the drill an annual event to further enhance teamwork and response skills.
