- ➤ The Christian Mission started a new walking club called Turkey Trotters to help local residents train for the Turkey Trot. The group meets Mondays and Fridays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at 919 North Main Street from October 3 to November 21—everyone can join without signing up. Iredell Free News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mooresville Graded School District reported a clean financial audit that confirmed they stayed on budget, maintained a healthy fund balance, and responsibly managed federal funds from COVID-19. The audit shows the district's strong commitment to fiscal responsibility — letting taxpayers know that every dollar is well spent. Iredell Free News
- ➤ The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce hosted a forum in Davidson where three candidates for the District 1 seat on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Board of Education appeared alongside Davidson Mayor Rusty Knox, who is running unopposed, and WSIC streamed the event live. The Chamber will host another forum in Cornelius on Sept. 30 and one in Huntersville on Oct. 9 from 7-9 p.m. Mooresville Citizen
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Iredell Health System and the Iredell Physician Network announced that Dr. Rob Theiss has joined Iredell Pain Management to provide expert pain care in Mooresville and Statesville. Dr. Theiss completed his training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Management at Atrium Health Carolinas Rehabilitation and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center—he is now accepting new patients ages 16 and up.
