- ➤ Former Iredell-Statesville Schools Board member Max Ralston James Jr. was arrested Friday and charged with felony attempted obstruction of justice and felony conspiracy+ he posted an $8,000 bond and is set to appear in Superior Court on December 15. Iredell Free News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Josh Stein declared a State of Emergency on September 27 to mobilize the Emergency Response Team before heavy rains and possible flooding from Tropical Depression 9 or storm Imelda. Residents are urged to prepare emergency kits and follow local weather updates. WHKY
- ➤ Barnard Mill Road east of Old Wesley Road will be closed starting at 8:00 a.m. Monday for a pipe replacement, and crews will finish the work by 3:00 p.m. Monday. Statesville Record & Landmark
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Crossroads Care Clinic raised $45,261 at its annual Life Walk held Saturday at Front Street Baptist Church — 34 churches took part and Grace Alliance donated $7,000, leaving the event just $339 short of its goal.
