- ➤ On Tuesday night, Iredell County Parks and Recreation announced its Youth Athletics Scholarship Program as a top 10 finalist for the 2025 CivicPlus Community Impact Award—marking two years during which the program provided over 750 scholarships to low-income youth. - ➤ Eligible drivers without REAL ID can renew their driver licenses online again starting immediately (following Senate Bill 245 signed by Gov. Josh Stein last week) to ease wait times at driver license offices. NCDMV said that online renewal options for REAL ID licenses and teen driver upgrades will be available in the next several weeks. - ➤ Iredell County high schools now have K-9 units with a sheriff's office school resource officer to help students feel comfortable approaching law enforcement and building trust—an effort aimed at boosting communication. Mooresville Tribune

- ➤ More than 150 Mooresville residents participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s— Iredell Co. and Lake Norman at Liberty Park on Sept. 27, raising $61,000 for research, care and support while hoping to reach $100,000 by year-end. Team Wendy led the fundraising effort by raising $3,205 as participants honored those affected with a Promise Garden ceremony. Mooresville Citizen
