- ➤ Cool Springs Volunteer Fire Department hosted its first Community Day at Station 2 on Fifth Creek Road on Saturday. Over 200 residents saw live emergency demonstrations — including car fires, building fires and vehicle extrications — and talked with local rescue, EMS, sheriff and wildlife officials while children enjoyed face painting, a giant slide and a bounce house. - ➤ Girl Scout Nila Granillo of Troop 13036 earned the Gold Award for her project—she created a custom Lotería game for Lake Norman Elementary to help Spanish Immersion students learn about Mexican culture and the Spanish language. Iredell Free News

- ➤ A new Christian school will open in Mooresville in 2026. A longtime educator with nearly 30 years of experience said his passion for Christian education drives his plan to create a positive learning environment for students. Mooresville Tribune
- ➤ Crosby Scholars of Iredell County announced plans for the inaugural Fall Frenzy 5K Run/Walk fundraiser, which will take place on November 22 at ESC Park in Troutman and features a chip-timed race with music, a coffee truck, and fun activities—registration is $35 per person with a T-shirt provided.
