- ➤ The Stony Point Volunteer Fire Department held its 18th Annual Cruise-In fundraiser on Saturday at Station 1 on Ruritan Road—showing over 75 cars, motorcycles, and trucks while awarding plaques for People’s, Firefighters, and Auxiliary Choice Awards. - ➤ Mooresville Arts announced award winners for the 43rd Annual Artoberfest Judged Show & Competition on Monday, where 76 artists entered + 134 entries were shown. Nearly 400 people attended + the exhibit is on display at the gallery through November 13. Iredell Free News

- ➤ At Monday’s Iredell-Statesville school board meeting, board member Mike Kubiniec proposed that each of the 38 principals give a 15-minute presentation on their School Improvement Plan in a separate session (to simplify review of long documents and acronyms), but the majority voted to keep the current process (which they said aligns with state law and holds the superintendent accountable).
