- ➤ Gowri Nair, a Lake Norman High School graduate from Mooresville, was awarded the Falconer Foundation's fourth $10K arts and services scholarship—making her the latest recipient of the annual award. Statesville Record & Landmark

- ➤ Iredell Health Foundation will host its fourth annual Heart of Jazz event on November 7 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Statesville Civic Center — tickets cost $100 and offer live music by N-Spire, dinner, and an auction to fund heart care improvements. Iredell Free News
- ➤ Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County broke ground on the new Brown Family Grief Center Thursday afternoon; the center will be built by G.L.
