- ➤ At the Statesville Country Club in September, the Laura Laws Memorial Golf Tournament raised $74,000 to fund scholarships for Iredell County students and support local nonprofits by honoring Laws’ legacy through an event organized by the Rotary Club of Statesville-Fourth Creek—31 teams competed and organizers will host next year’s tournament in September. - ➤ On Wednesday, Food Lion employees donated 13,000 pounds of food, $5,000 in gift cards, and their time to Fifth Street Ministries in Statesville to feed shelter residents and support vulnerable community members.
