- ➤ NB Mills Elementary hosted a trunk-or-treat and family reading night on Thursday that drew about 400 people who wore costumes and enjoyed candy, games and free books from Front Street Baptist. Principal Sally Schultz said the event (which gives students a ticket for a November surprise) is held each year to help families come together. Iredell Free News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ At the October Drug-Alcohol Coalition meeting, Susan Willis of Partners Health Management explained that 65 employers have become Recovery Friendly Workplaces that offer free peer support and technical assistance to employees facing substance use disorder—saving employers $4 for every dollar they invest. DACI is planning an event on March 10 that will seek speakers and community volunteers to help monitor unregulated substances in local stores. Iredell Free News
