Good morning, Mooresville.

The Raleigh Ringers, an internationally acclaimed handbell group, will perform at Mac Gray Auditorium in Statesville on November 15 at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for youth and are available online, by phone or at the door.

A man from Iredell County won $100,000 on a $20 scratch-off ticket and picked up his prize at lottery headquarters on Monday (after state and federal tax withholdings, he received $71,756).

The Mooresville Graded School District Board approved Toni-Ann Lukacs as the new director of the Before and After School Program; she brings over a decade of teaching and childcare experience — having led classrooms in Charlotte-Mecklenburg and managed a childcare center — to support staff and families in our schools.

The Iredell-Statesville Schools Board of Education discussed plans to update school devices by either keeping a one-to-one laptop program or shifting to a shared model as they prepare to roll out new devices in spring 2026, 2027 and 2028—devices are mostly in their fourth or fifth year and a Chromebook pilot received strong student praise. Local educators cautioned that using shared devices might hinder advanced courses, especially for students who need reliable access for rigorous programs.

Wendy Troutman, a 25-year employee who began as a CNA, was named director of corporate wellness for Iredell Health System — she will oversee the Wellness & Diabetes Center, industrial clinics, and corporate wellness programs.
