- ➤ Local Girl Scouts Troop 3270 earned the Silver Award by creating a Kids’ Corner for Heartstrings Therapeutic Music and Art at Children’s Hope Alliance in Statesville. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Mooresville Fire – Rescue, Shepherds Fire – Rescue and N.C. Forest Service extinguished a grass and woods fire encompassing more than two acres on Thursday on Sorrel Lane caused by careless open burning—firefighters took about 25 minutes to bring the fire under control and address remaining hotspots. - ➤ Local business owner Bob Gates received the NC School Boards Association Champion of Education Award on November 12—his work with MGSD programs and scholarship initiatives has strengthened public education in Mooresville. - ➤ Toni-Ann Lukacs was named the new director of the Mooresville Graded School District's Before and After School Program—bringing over a decade of experience in early childhood education and childcare management—from her previous roles at Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Sunshine House Early Learning Academy. - ➤ Mitchell Community College announced a guaranteed admission agreement with N.C. State University to offer a clear transfer pathway for eligible students.
